Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
ALTA utilizes a proprietary GLP and 21 CFR Part 11 compliant LIMS system (ALIS™) to automate the generation and consolidation of laboratory data and final study reports. A real time fault tolerant replication system ensures that the database is replicated in real time for added data security and backup. ALIS is specifically designed and customized to automate many of the everyday tasks of a bioanalytical laboratory operating in a GLP environment.

WATSON™ LIMS Data Transfer
ALIS is capable of producing Watson LIMS compatible file suitable for automated direct importation into WATSON systems using a tab-delimited or Excel format. This file can be provided in an encrypted format (PGP) via email, on a CD, or via a secure network connection.
Information from the client’s Watson system can be merged directly into ALIS from a Watson input file supplied by the client. This can be accomplished either by linking to a Watson barcode identifier or by building an ALIS project from the import file.
DISK-To-DISK-To-TAPE REMOTE BACKUP
A Fiber-Optic connection provides a link between ALTA’s two laboratory facilities in El Dorado Hills. Full and incremental backups are performed over this connection, which links production servers to a backup server (1TB Network Attached Storage). ALTA has implemented an automated backup system that enables the ALIS database, instrument data files, and all other study related information to be backed up, first to disk based NAS and then to SDLT2 tape for long-term archiving.
